Struggling to GROW - NEW podcast

Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is make room for God and for one another. A conversation, a word of encouragement, a few minutes receiving prayer. They can make a real difference to our week.

In Acts 2:42, the first believers made space for teaching, fellowship and prayer. Growing together was part of their everyday life. That is something we want to keep building at LSSM.

Here is what is coming up:

• 8 pm Thursday 22 October: Prophecy Night. Come to give and receive - Book Here

• 8 pm Thursday 29 October: Our FREE Receiving the Father’s Love Workshop. Book Here

• Tuesday 3 November: Receiving the Father’s Love begins. Six weeks, Tuesdays, 7:30 – 8:30 pm.

Receiving the Father's Love is a six-week journey into trusting God's heart and living securely as His child. Through biblical teaching, honest discussion and practical prayer, we will explore what makes love difficult to receive, how painful experiences can shape our expectations, and how to move beyond striving for approval. Each week gives space to respond personally and practise receiving His care in everyday life. Whether you have walked with Jesus for years or are just beginning to discover the Father's affection, you are welcome to come as you are and grow with us

• Wednesday 4 November: Dealing with Church Pain begins. Six weeks, Wednesdays, 12 – 1 pm.

When you’ve been hurt in church, it can be difficult to know how to move forward—or even how to talk about what happened. Dealing with Church Pain is a six-week course with Andrew Chapman, offering space to be honest, bring your pain to Jesus and begin to find hope again. Through biblical teaching, prayer, personal reflection and practical steps, we’ll explore how to recognise the impact of what you’ve experienced, rebuild trust with healthy boundaries and rediscover your identity beyond the hurt. There’s no pressure to share more than you want or rush your journey. If you’re ready to take a next step towards healing, I’d love you to join us—you don’t have to walk through this alone

Have you ever felt prompted to encourage someone, then talked yourself out of saying anything?

We can make it quite complicated. We think it has to sound impressive or contain something extraordinary. But 1 Corinthians 14:3 describes prophecy in terms of strengthening, encouragement and comfort.

Think about Barnabas in Acts 9:26–28. When others were afraid of Saul, Barnabas helped them see what God was doing in his life. Encouragement helped make room for someone.

Try this today:

Choose one person and ask, “Father, what do you love about them?” Allow a moment of quiet.

Notice a thought, Scripture or quality that comes to mind. Hold it humbly; you do not have to label every thought as God speaking.

Share a short encouragement. You could say, “As I prayed for you, this came to mind. Does it encourage you?” Give them room to weigh it.

Keep it loving and simple. Avoid predictions or instructions about major life decisions.

Afterwards, ask yourself: Did I help that person feel seen? Was I willing to let them respond freely?

This week, why not join us for Prophecy Night? Ask the Father who you could encourage before Thursday arrives, too. A simple message of kindness may mean more than you realise.

We would love to see you tomorrow tonight.

With love and expectation,

Andrew & the LSSM Team 💛
